In the process of trying on clothes/hats to decide what we were to take to Indo...this hat made it 'cuz it's cute but he's already outgrown it!

Carrefour

In honor of our very 1st post we had another photoshoot @ the supermarket in Bandung called Carrefour. For those of you who remember, it was the post w/ all the weird & funny food items....this time we went back w/ Elijah & they had little carseat type things for the shopping carts - fabulous!

Who ever thought "Smakkies" would be so interesting to a baby?!

Hangin' w/ the Friesens

So there's lots of fun places in northern Bandung that folks can go eat, drink, & be merry - enjoyed hanging out w/ the Friesen family playing cards & drinking fruit tea.

After our tea & cards we headed up to another place called "Gampong Aceh" w/ food from Aceh & a great view of the night lights which we tried to capture on video...

It got a little rainy so we went & visited a family friend's place w/ an awesome view of the beach from a mountainside...



While back in our hotel room, J & Jah had a little bonding time...:)

Good Eatin'

While @ the beach we ate lots of seafood @ a cheap price ... yummy way to get over jetlag!


We're finding creative ways to find places for Elijah when we eat out...like these chairs put together.

We got serenaded by a local band playing a popular song now in Indo...they were actually quite good!

Day at the Beach

So earlier this month we took a quick (7 hr) roadtrip with A & P's family to a beach named Pangandaran & on our way we stopped @ this fun place to eat lunch in little gazebo type settings that overlooked rice terraces...here's one of the kids on the trip (named "Funny" - sweet kid)


The woman pictured here (Bu Uka) helped to raise Arief - she just loves Elijah.

Elijah had his 1st pool experience while @ the beach too - seemed to enjoy it even though he was exhausted!

Staying with our Bandung Family...

So here's a pix of Elijah with our former homestay family that we love so much! We stayed with them during our 1st mo here in Indo (except for the week & 1/2 J went into Aceh to get things setup for us all)

The day after we arrived they happened to be having a family pix shoot day @ their place so we joined in...

So this is what many nights during our home assignment looked like as Mom Janney cooked the whole time giving Elissa a major break as a new Mom (thanks Mom!) M & D J were great hosts the whole time & we're super thankful for the time we had with them :)

When Elissa & her mom were baby clothes shopping @ a consignment shop before Elijah came along they came across 6 different animal hats...so perfect for all 6 grandkids :)

So the Sat after Christmas we all hauled over to Mom D's bro's place (Uncle Tim) to reconnect w/ cousins that we hadn't seen for awhile...here's J's bro Rob & wife Sharon & Aunt Jodi & U Tim
